Foxtel’s SVOD service Presto launches
At the 2014 Australian Broadcasting Digital Media Summit in Sydney on February 24, Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein announced that Presto will be available from March 13 of this year. Presto will offer movie lovers a monthly pass to stream Foxtel Movies, both live and on demand, via PC and Mac computers and compatible iPads for AU$19.99 a month. Foxtel boss calls for more competition in sports rights bidding
According to the Herald Sun, Foxtel's chief Richard Freudenstein said anti-siphoning regulations, which ensure key sporting events are broadcast on free-to-air TV, have hurt competition in the industry.
