Foxtel’s SVOD service Presto launches
At the 2014 Australian Broadcasting Digital Media Summit in Sydney on February 24, Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein announced that Presto will be available from March 13 of this year. Presto will offer movie lovers a monthly pass to stream Foxtel Movies, both live and on demand, via PC and Mac computers and compatible iPads for AU$19.99 a month. The Australian has reported that pay-TV operator Foxtel has unveiled a new online platform with extensive movie content, competing with the free-to-air television sector over subscription VOD services similar to Netflix.
