Monaco – It has been announced that eighty-one programmes will compete for a Golden Nymph as part of the Official Competition of the 53rd edition of The Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo this year. Asia Pacific’s pay-TV boom to continue
Pay-TV revenues in Asia Pacific will be US$12 billion higher in 2018 (US$43.9 billion total) than in 2012, according to a report from Digital TV Research. It also estimates that pay-TV revenues (subscriptions and on-demand) will grow by US$2.1 billion in 2013 to US$33.9 billion. TV networks in S. Korea “paralysed” by suspected N. Korean cyber attacks
Seoul – Computer networks in South Korea, including major South Korean banks and TV broadcasters, crashed simultaneously on Wednesday. Several of the major TV broadcasters servers such as YTN, MBC and KBS were affected in the crash but no failed transmissions on-air were reported. Kantar Media expands Asian footprint
London – The Cambodian Broadcasting Service has awarded Kantar Media a two year contract for television audience research. The contract, beginning this year, extends Kantar Media's footprint for audience research to 62 countries including eight Asian Pacific countries: Australia, China, Cambodia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.
