TVNZ 7 to cease transmission after June 30
At midnight on June 30, TVNZ 7, a commercial-free channel, will cease transmission, and will be replaced by TVOne plus 1, a delayed repeat of TVNZ's flagship channel, on the same frequency. Rick Ellis, Chief Executive of State broadcaster Television New Zealand (TVNZ) announced his resignation today. Company chairman Sir John Anderson said Ellis would be joining Australia’s Telstra from January next year.
