Hong Kong – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has licensed Pan Am, a period dramedy series set around the iconic international airline of the same name, to STAR in India and TVNZ in New Zealand. Across the Asia Pacific, Pan Am will first take flight in India (STAR) in early 2012, followed by premieres in New Zealand (TVNZ) in February, Japan (IMAGICA BS) in March and Australia (Nine Network) later in the year. NHNZ increases production

Natural History New Zealand (NHNZ) is beefing up its production slate, introducing 30 hours of programming into its business portfolio over the last month. Cannes – ITV Studios Global Entertainment has sold the brand new US version of Prime Suspect to broadcasters across the globe. This will see the network drama launch in over 30 territories. TVNZ aims to capture lost youth with new channel launch

Television New Zealand is rebranding its digital channel TVNZ6 to a youth-focused channel. Called simply U, the new-look channel will launch on March 13 and target New Zealand youth aged 15-24. The shift to youth is prompted following rival MediaWorks' rebranding of its music channel C4 to a mainstream entertainment channel called Four, and shift TV3's focus to 25-54-year-olds. TVNZ wants to capture lost youth via Facebook

TVNZ is rebranding its digital channel TVNZ6 to a youth-focused channel called U. The new-look channel will launch on March 13 and target New Zealand youth aged 15-24. The broadcaster has formed a partnership with social networking site Facebook, in a bid for integration and closer relationships with viewers.
