The selection includes titles originally broadcast in flagship slots such as the Taiga Drama (period drama series), Morning Drama Series, and Drama 10, with the aim of further strengthening the international reach of NHK’s content and the global dissemination of Japanese culture.
NHK dramas have long stood at the heart of Japanese entertainment culture. The epic Taiga Drama series has consistently brought to life historical figures and defining moments in Japan’s past. The Morning Drama Series offers vivid portrayals of everyday life and the pursuit of dreams, while the Drama 10 series explores contemporary social issues, diverse ways of living, and the complexities of human relationships.
The first six titles include:
Taiga Drama Strategist KANBE
Morning Drama Series Mampuku
Drama 10 — Descending Stories: A
Life in Rakugo, The Science Club,
Tokyo Salad Bowl, My Family
Additional titles will be rolled out sequentially, bringing the total number of titles available to 19 during fiscal year 2026. NHK will continue to strengthen its content development capabilities while expanding its ability to bring its content not only to audiences across Japan, but to viewers around the world.
