Seoul, South Korea – The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has licenced the broadcast rights for the Olympic Games to KRT, the national broadcaster of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has been inducted by the ITU-T as a sector member. ITU-T is one of the three sectors of the International Telecommunication Union and focuses on development of telecommunication standards (telephony, mobile, IPTV, etc). ABU deal for IAAF expands to Indian sub-continent
The IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) announced that for the 2009 IAAF World Championships, agreements have been concluded that cover 212 territories - a record for the event. The IAAF reports that the figures have been achieved due to an agreement in the last region to remain unsold, namely the Indian Sub-Continent.
