Singapore – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks has ordered a second season of Hannibal. The second season will run for 13 episodes and launch next year. In its debut season, Hannibal tripled Cable A 4+ viewers in India and drew 224 percent of the timeslot’s average ratings in 2012. New Zealand’s MediaWorks in receivership
MediaWorks NZ, the broadcaster whose stable includes TV3 and Four, and radio stations including Radio Live, the Rock and MoreFM, was placed into receivership on June 17, 2013. Mediaworks NZ Limited funders have appointed Brendon Gibson and Michael Stiassny of KordaMentha – a financial advisory firm, to oversee the receivership of the company and its subsidiaries. The Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) has condemned attempts that are being made to interfere with the broadcasts of international broadcasters on short wave in the Asia region. BREAKING: MDA fines SingTel mio S$180,000 for TV service disruption
Singapore – The Media Development Authority (MDA) has fined SingTel S$180,000 for a disruption to its mio TV service on 13 May 2012. Investigations revealed the island-wide disruption affected some 115,000 mio TV subscribers who were tuning-in to the concluding matches of the 2011/2012 Barclays Premier League (BPL) season on 13 May 2012.
