So Drama! Entertainment (SDE) wins Best Branded Content for the short film Missing in Action at the Asian Television Awards 2021 – its first foray into one of the most significant and celebrated events in Asia’s TV industry.
Directed by veteran local filmmaker Daniel Yam, this short film showcases the special bond between fathers and daughters and the universal tension between duty and family that dads often experience. While the pandemic has brought even more pressure on families, it has also led many to go above and beyond to help those outside their kin. Created and written by So Drama! Entertainment’s Creative Director, Susanna Kulatissa, this short film is a tribute to those among us who, without fanfare, continue every day to quietly contribute to perfect strangers.
Mr Yam said, “It is a great honour and privilege to have been recognised at the Asian TV Awards. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with So Drama! Entertainment to produce original content that is close to my heart.”
“Our thanks to Asian TV Awards for recognising the work of So Drama! Entertainment’s production team and Daniel’s excellent directing. This short film is dedicated to all the unsung heroes – especially our healthcare workers, our men and women in the Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team, our migrant workers and many more – who keep our world ticking amidst these uncertain times,” said Ms Kulatissa.
SDE was also nominated for the following categories at the Asian Television Awards 2021: Best Scriptwriting – Ah Ma; Best Single Digital Performance or Short Film – Ah Ma; Best Leading Female Performance – Digital – Choy Peng Hoi (Ah Ma); Best Single Digital Programme or Short Film – Missing in Action; Best Music Video – Tap Dance.
