Malaysia’s leading content producer Astro Shaw, with Indonesia’s Gojek, is proud to present Astro Original Series action drama Do[s]a and the horror-thriller Sembilan are now available on GoPlay, Gojek’s video-on-demand platform, to fans in Indonesia, as part of the app’s Online Film & Serial Festival.
Do[s]a and Sembilan, currently available on Astro’s On Demand and Astro GO platforms in Malaysia, along with Turah, Laut Bercermin, Jakarta Undercover, Help is on the Way, and many more are set to join the catalogue of the Online Film & Serial Festival on GoPlay.
Both acclaimed series have united Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore’s most exceptional talents in acting and cinema production to produce well-loved international quality content. This was demonstrated by Do[s]a that was nominated for the best Asia Drama in the 2019 Asia Contents Award and won three awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards.

Do[s]a, an action-packed Astro premium series, tells a story about the past that has returned to haunt Latif (Datuk M. Nasir), a quiet Silat master living in Kuala Lumpur with his four children. Following his daughter’s kidnapping, his three sons pack themselves and travel to Jakarta, Indonesia to bring her back. Do[s]a is directed by the multi-award-winning Indonesian director Ifa Isfansyah, with his notable works such as Laskar Pelangi (2008), Garuda Di Dadaku(2019), Sang Penari (2011), as the latest GoPlay Original Series,Tunnel (2019). The transnational eight-episode miniseries include actors from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, featuring a cast of Datuk M Nasir, Roy Marten, Ashraf Sinclair, Reuben Elishama, Remy Ishak, and Hisham Hamid.
Sembilan is an original horror-thriller mini-series and another Malaysia-Indonesia collaboration with an ‘A-List’ cast. Directed by Razaisyam Rashid, Sembilan is Astro’s first supernatural original series with Datuk Khairul Anwar Salleh as the Executive Producer. The horror-thriller series tells about a prostitute named Rimbun (Atiqah Hasiholan) who gave birth to a baby boy named Taduh. One day, Taduh (Bima Azriel) suddenly disappeared without a trace and after nine years since his mysterious disappearance, everyone is startled by the reappearance of the missing boy. Malaysian stars in the 10-episode series include acclaimed actors and actresses Beto Kusyairy, Luqman Hafidz, and Sara Ali, along with Indonesian stars Atiqah Hasiholan, Bima Azriel, Endhita Wibisono, and Roy Marten.
Both of the drama series, Do[s]a and Sembilan involve the renowned Indonesian scriptwriter Salman Aristo, best known for his works on box office romantic drama Ayat-Ayat Cinta (2008), best-seller drama novel adaptation about friendship Laskar Pelangi (2008), Garuda di Dadaku (2009), and recently, GoPlay Original Series comedic drama Saiyo Sakato (2020).

Together with Astro, we are trying to push new frontiers in producing stories with Nusantara as the central theme. Both series also have acclaimed Indonesian cinematographer Yadi Sugandi as its director of cinematographer, with his notable works; romantic drama box office Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2 (2016), best-seller friendship drama novel adaptation Laskar Pelangi (2008) and Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel trilogy adaptation Sang Penari (2011).
