Tokyo – The Japan Myanmar Pwe Taw festival of Japanese culture was held over two days on 6-7 December to mark the sixtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Myanmar. Celestial Tiger Entertainment announces four new carriage deals

Tokyo – In February, broadcasting of the NHK’s popular morning serial drama Ama-chan began in Indonesia. A 24-hour channel run by SKY Perfect JSAT Corp. called “WAKUWAKU JAPAN”, which specialises in Japanese TV programmes, commenced broadcasting in Indonesia on February 22. CNA opens news bureau in Myanmar

Singapore – Regional broadcaster Channel NewsAsia has opened a news bureau in Myanmar. It is one of two broadcasters to be given a licence to operate a news bureau.
