ABU Programming Director steps down
As of November 11, 2013, Takeshi Doki will no longer serve as Director, ABU Programming, ABU Secretariat, Kuala Lumpur. The end of his three-year tenure with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union will see Doki return to Tokyo and take up a new position in NHK as Head, Programming Department, NHK World TV. Six chosen for inaugural 1Asia co-pro scheme
Judges have chosen six submissions to undertake co-productions between Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) members and Japanese programme producers under the new 1Asia banner, a scheme which encourages co-pro and collaboration between Asian broadcasters and producers. Australia gets new communications minister
According to the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), Deputy PM Anthony Albanese has been given the communications portfolio in the Ministerial reshuffle announced by returned Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
