Judge rejects MediaCorp’s objections to Astro logo
Singapore - Malaysia's Astro All Asia Networks will be permitted to register its logo with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. MediaCorp News had objected that they felt the Astro logo was too similar to that of its Channel NewsAsia (CNA) channel brand, which might cause confusion in the marketplace. China: Five channels to start HD simulcasting
China - The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has revealed that CCTV-1, Beijing Satellite TV, Shanghai's Dragon TV, Jiangsu Satellite TV and Hunan Satellite TV will begin simulcasting of standard definition and high-definition programming on September 28. The two broadcasts will feature identical content, and the stations will not be permitted to charge additional fees for the addition of the high-definition services.
