Singapore – StarHub announced the launch of Food Network Asia (StarHub TV Channel 433) on its pay TV platform starting 5 July 2010. Singapore’s leading pay TV operator, in partnership with Scripps Networks Interactive, will be the first carrier in Asia to broadcast this channel. Food Network Asia will be available under StarHub TV’s Lifestyle Basic Group at no additional cost for customers who are already subscribed to this group. Alongside this linear channel, Food Network Asia will also be made available in high definition via Food Network Asia HD (StarHub TV Channel 468). The channel, which is being assembled in Singapore and caters to Asian taste buds, will include some of the most popular Food Network series from the US, as well as content developed to satisfy local-market tastes and nuances in food programming. Come 5 July (6am), all StarHub TV customers will be able to enjoy Food Network Asia for free for a period of two weeks ending 19 July (6am). Customers can tune to StarHub TV Channel 433 to enjoy this free preview. StarHub will offer Channel-i (StarHub TV Channel 140) on its pay TV platform from 1 July 2010. The pay TV operator will be the first to carry a Bangla channel in Singapore. The 24-hour channel is one of the leading Bangla channels in Bangladesh and is acclaimed for its entertaining and educational content. Starting 1 July (6am), StarHub TV customers will be able to enjoy this channel for free for a period of two weeks ending 15 July (6am). Viewers can look forward to reality shows, drama series, Bangla movies and more. For just $8 a month ($8.56 with GST) after the complimentary preview period, customers can continue to enjoy Channel-i. Channel-i is also available on mobile for StarHub Mobile customers. This channel will be available at no additional costs to all StarHub Mobile postpaid customers until 31 August 2010 while prepaid customers pay only $0.50 (includes GST) per 24 hours.
