Kuala Lumpur – The Malaysian Minister of Communications and Multimedia, the Honorable Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, will be present at MIPCOM, to support Malaysia’s talents and to promote the country’s world-class technology and content.
This MIPCOM, the Malaysian delegation comprises a record number of over 50 companies from all content platforms, bringing all new Malaysian-made leading- edge content with a focus on technology and new media.

The Malaysian delegation is co-organised by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and the Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in association with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Tourism Malaysia and the Creative Content Association Malaysia (CCAM).
There have been some developments this year, most notably the completion of Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios (PIMS); the great emergence of IPTV platforms nationwide and its rollout of 30% Cash Rebate of the Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI).
There has been a lot of emphasis on technological development, government incentive support and the construction of new facilities that have helped to strengthen the Malaysian content development ecosystem within the country. This ecosystem has provided opportunities for companies to develop high quality creative content that is at par with the global standards winning multiple international accolades.
Driven by the nation’s game-changing Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), Malaysia is rapidly evolving into a nation of advanced enterprise and modern commerce.
