OUTtv, the world’s leading LGBTQ+ streaming service, has come on board as the new exclusive global SVOD rights holder, excluding the UK for the hit BBC series Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make Up Star.
Originally a BBC Three and Netflix co-production, Glow Up has offered contestants career-making breaks in the make-up industry since its first season in 2019. The Competition Reality Series is the ultimate make-up showdown and for its fifth series welcomed brand-new host, Supermodel Leomie Anderson. In each season a new cast of aspiring make-up artists (MUAs) are tested in high-stakes professional assignments from TV special effects to digital fashion week, global beauty brand campaigns and red carpets. At Glow Up Studios the MUAs set out to impress Series Judges and industry legends Val Garland and Dominic Skinner with jaw dropping transformations.
Produced by Wall to Wall Media for the BBC, season six will launch on OUTtv channels and SVOD services in Spring 2024. The deal follows a number of recent successful co-productions for OUTtv with leading international broadcasters including House of Drag with TVNZ, The G-List with South Africa’s eMedia, Metro Sexual with Nine Network Australia and Shine True with Fuse Media.
Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv, said, “Glow Up is an internationally renowned series that shines a spotlight on the incredible craft of make-up artistry in a thoroughly entertaining and dynamic way, and aligns perfectly with our other original programming such as Sew Fierce where fans have loved immersing themselves in the work behind the creation of iconic looks. We are delighted to be bringing the sixth season to our audiences later this year.”
Leanne Klein, MD of Wall to Wall Media said, “We couldn’t be more excited that OUTtv will be our global partner for Glow Up. Now in season six, the show has a fan-base of millions around the world and OUTtv is the perfect platform for them to enjoy an exceptional new season of the show, which includes professional assignments with Lady Gaga’s make-up brand, Haus Labs, and body painting for global gaming platform Roblox, alongside more extraordinary creative briefs for which the series has become famous.”
