Leading independent distributor All3Media International has finalised five new content deals in Hong Kong, sending a raft of premium documentaries, factual entertainment titles and primetime dramas to broadcasters and platforms in the territory.

Hong Kong Pay-TV platform, Now TV has secured a diverse variety of factual content. The deal, which features a total of nine titles, includes Nutopia’s A World of Calm (10 x 30 mins), which combines mesmeric imagery with narration by A-list stars including Mahershala Ali, Nicole Kidman and Zoë Kravitz to offer a timely antidote to modern life. 72 Films’ Diana (1hr 30mins), the definitive portrait of the princess and Studio Ramsay’s two-part special Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine (2 x 1hr) also head to the platform as well as Brook Lapping Productions’ The Hunt for Gaddafi’s Billions (1 x 1hr 30mins)) and globally resonant documentary The Anti-Vax Conspiracy (1 x 90 mins) from award-winning producers, Caravan and Quicksilver Media.

Two premium dramas have also been acquired by Now TV in Hong Kong – both seasons of critically acclaimed character-driven financial thriller Blinded (both 8 x 1hr), from Sweden’s FLX TV, and New Gold Mountain (4 x 1 hr), a period murder mystery from Australia’s Goalpost Television that tells the story of Australian Gold Rush from the perspective of the Chinese mining community.

A package of scripted and non-scripted titles is heading to Hong Kong’s ViuTVsix. The free-to-air channel has signed rights to Snowed-In Productions’ psychological thriller Too Close (3 x 1 hr), starring BAFTA winner Emily Watson and Olivier winner Denise Gough, as well as Studio Lambert’s emotive drama Three Families (2 x 1hr), and series two of TXTV’s gripping crime drama Innocent (4 x 1hr). Also included are The Cube USA (Objective Media Group, 11 x 1 hr), The Cube Australia (ITV Studios, 10 x 1hr), and three series of Great Canal Journeys (Spun Gold TV, 24 x 1 hr in total).

Hong Kong’s TVB has acquired Michel Roux’s French Country Cooking (8 x 1hr), a stunning culinary journey through Southern France from Outline Productions, and both seasons of The Art of Architecture (Colonial American Productions, 20 x 1hr in total), which explores the work of some of the world’s most famous contemporary architects. Finally, public broadcaster RTHK has signed both series of health-focused series Live Well for Longer (4 x 1 hr).

Kit Yow, VP Sales, APAC at All3Media International, commented, “We’re delighted to announce such a wide variety of programming heading to Asia through these new scripted and non-scripted package deals. Hong Kong’s vibrant television landscape presents a wealth of opportunities for content across all genres- from our premium factual documentaries including The Hunt for Gaddafi’s Billions and The Anti Vax Conspiracy, top factual entertainment such as Michel Roux’s French Country Cooking and Great Canal Journeys as well as our starry scripted series. These new acquisitions highlight our ability to partner with a broad range of clients to bring their viewers the best series and specials from around the world.”
