Astro has unveiled a new leadership structure to accelerate its next phase of growth, aligning leadership across digital growth, commercial strategy, marketing and corporate affairs to strengthen execution of the company’s transformation agenda. The changes support Astro’s transformation as it responds to evolving consumer needs and a rapidly changing media landscape. With initiatives such as Astro X3 (no box, no installation and no contract), continued investment in premium local content and integrated advertising solutions, Astro is strengthening its leadership to drive growth, innovation and value creation for customers, advertisers and partners.
Tai Kam Leong has been redesignated as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead Astro’s integrated commercial strategy. He oversees core revenue streams across consumer and enterprise portfolios as well as advertising business through Astro Media Solutions (AMS). Working closely with business units across the organisation, he will drive a more unified commercial approach, accelerate growth across Astro’s revenue streams, including advertising expenditure (ADEX), strengthen market reach, and create greater value for advertisers, partners and customers.
To accelerate Astro’s digital growth agenda, the company has established the role of Chief Digital Growth Officer (CDGO), with Rene Menezes leading KULT, Digital Business and Digital Campaign & Operations to identify, build and scale new revenue streams. Together, the CCO and CDGO will drive a more integrated commercial and digital growth strategy to support Astro’s long-term growth ambitions.
Further strengthening Astro’s brand and audience engagement, Christinne Lim has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). She will oversee the Marketing and Communications functions, alongside the Group Chief Executive Officer’s Office. Meanwhile, Laila Saat assumes the newly established role of Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer (CRCAO), overseeing Regulatory & Corporate Affairs and ESG to reinforce stakeholder engagement and governance. These appointments strengthen Astro’s focus on commercial excellence, digital growth, audience engagement and stakeholder relations, enhancing the company’s ability to seize new opportunities and deliver sustainable value to customers, partners and shareholders.
