Nitin Michael and Hasnaa Descuns, co-Founders of SynProNize, Dubai-based content distribution and production company, announced they are licensing the top Indian drama series, Thapki, stemming from their distribution deal with IndiaCast, to Kenya. The program aired on IndiaCast’s Colors TV Channel to high ratings and will be dubbed into one of the vernacular dialects spoken in Kenya.
Thapki is about overcoming adversity to find love. The series focuses on a young woman named Thapki that is mocked by society as she stutters. Despite her hardships, she finds love and develops confidence from media magnate, Dhruv. His mother strongly interferes, disallowing their love. The series follows the journey of the two as they struggle to be together, overcoming familial obstacles.
Hasnaa Descuns stated, “SynProNize is thrilled to bring our partner, IndiaCast’s fantastic drama series, Thapki into Kenya for the first time. In recent years, IndiaCast has been known to produce shows with a strong social message in addition to being widely popular with audiences. Thapki is exactly the kind of series that SynProNize wants to share with our valued partners in Africa, serving the dual purpose of entertaining audiences and hopefully bringing about a positive impact in society as well. There is an increasing demand for dubbing of foreign content to be consumed in African vernacular dialects and we’ve taken this step to deliver on that need.”
