Rock Entertainment Holdings announced today the birth of Global Trekker, Asia’s newest multi-genre factual entertainment channel, which will make its debut launch in Hong Kong with Hong Kong Cable Television Limited on 1 November 2021, followed by MeTV in Thailand and UiTV in Myanmar on 15 November 2021, and to be launched in 3BBGIGATV in Thailand in the coming months.
Global Trekker aims to open audiences to a world of new discoveries with first and exclusive content in Asia, and will consist of five genres – Nature & Environment, where viewers can learn about nature and wildlife and the importance of conservation; Destination & Food – bringing audiences cultural and gastronomy experiences around the world; Business – giving you insights on businesses and learn about their success, failures and challenges; Science & Technology – Introducing new innovation and technology that help improve daily lives and sustainability; Personality & Art – providing a biographical look into the lives of popular personalities and encourage appreciation of arts and history.
At launch, the channel’s lineup of shows will include The Wine Show, featuring Matthew Goode (The Crown), acclaimed series Eco Eye, The Art Show, Endangered Wildlife Sanctuary and Dogs: An Amazing Animal Family. All of which is first and exclusive in Asia. In the upcoming months, viewers can also look out for documentaries of popular personalities from Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates.
