SINGAPORE – HOOQ, the largest Video on Demand service in South East Asia today announced Zulfiqar Khan as its new Managing Director of India to provide the brand his expertise in aggressively growing the OTT space.

 

The announcement comes in light with Salil Kapoor, the current Managing Director deciding to move on to pursue other interests.

 

Zulfiqar Khan comes with over 19 years of rich experience across Sales, Business Development, Revenue and Content Creation across leading organizations like Star India and Eros Now.  With all this experience coming handy, Zulfiqar is now focused on leading the strategy for HOOQ in India for its further growth.

 

He began his career in 1999 with Star India and spent over sixteen years serving in distinct roles.  In 2015, he moved to Eros Now as Business Head and CRO for Eros Now, where he was responsible for Strategic Planning, Growth Initiatives, Business Partnerships and Original Content to establish Eros Now as a market leader in the OTT space.  He was a key contributor to Eros Now’s business expansion & growth in the India market.  Zulfiqar is a mature, assertive and a result oriented business executive who is good at building partnerships and driving business in the OTT space.  At Eros Now, Zulfi spearheaded the P&L for the OTT platform.  He managed an overall team of 50 people, which comprises of people from programming, marketing, content, monetization, strategy, alliance & partnerships.
