New York – A+E Networks, the world’s most prolific producer of movies for TV, has set MIPCOM 2017 for the global roll out of a premiere slate of movies about compelling and contemporary issues, and featuring A-list Hollywood talent both in front of and behind the camera, it was announced by Patrick Vien, Executive Managing Director, International, A+E Networks. Academy Award and Tony winning actress, Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, Ocean’s 12, Traffic) is attending MIPCOM to promote her latest starring role in an A+E Networks movie, Cocaine Godmother.
In the U.S., A+E TV movies reached over 100 million people in the last 12 months. In the last three years, recent titles have ranked as the #1 or #2 original movies in ad-supported cable including Beaches (2017), Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart and Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le (#1 & 2 respectively in 2016); and Whitney (2015).
As well, A+E TV movies attract a wide array of talent.
