Eccho Rights is proud to present its first Indian drama series called Amla.  It is currently on air in Star Plus from Monday to Saturday. Amla follows the story of a normal young woman who leads a peaceful life. She is about to marry her childhood sweetheart and start a family when one night, her whole world is destroyed.

 

Walking alone to meet up with her fiancé, she is confronted by a group of drunken thugs who attack and rape her. The incident is devastating and Amla’s distress is compounded when her fiancé leaves her, unable to get over the pain and betrayal he feels. In a spiteful twist, Amla is forced to marry one of her attackers, in order to save his family name and honour. But as time passes, and through her search for justice, Amla ends up seeing a different side to her new husband…

Amla is based on one of the most successful Turkish drama series of all time, Fatmagul, from Ay Yapim.
