New York – Expanding its partnership with VICE Media, A+E Networks has secured distribution rights to represent 300+ hours of VICELAND content for distribution across select international markets. The partnership creates an additional distribution opportunity for VICE’s original content. The announcement was made today by Sean Cohan, President, International & Digital, A+E Networks and James Rosenstock, President of VICELAND International and Chief Corporate Development Officer for VICE Media.
This expanded partnership between VICE and A+E Networks complements VICE’s ongoing international expansion, which continues to grow through the launch of VICELAND networks and other multiplatform partnerships with leading media and mobile providers around the world. In the last year, VICE has unveiled an expansive slate of mobile, digital and linear deals that will make its multi-screen programming available to audiences across the globe. Additional partnerships are expected to be announced in the coming months.
In addition, the agreement further builds on A+E International’s standing as sought-after sales representatives for quality content from the world’s most innovative creative talent. The deal will expand A+E Networks’ existing library, which consists of 16,000+ hours of content, with exceptional content spanning a range of genres from entertainment to current affairs to weekly specials. A+E’S library was bolstered in 2016 following similar distribution agreements with Pulse Films and East Entertainment.
“As we continue to expand our presence worldwide and bring our multiplatform content to dozens of new territories, this partnership with A+E Networks is an important aspect of our growth strategy,” said James Rosenstock, President of VICELAND International and Chief Corporate Development Officer. “This expanded partnership will bring our innovative VICELAND content to even more young viewers across the globe, and also create an additional revenue stream for our growing television business. We’re very excited to be working with the world’s leading program sales distributor in A+E.”
