Rome – A+E Networks Italy is set to launch Blaze, an HD factual entertainment channel, exclusively with SKY Italia. The launch of Blaze in Italy comes on the heels of the brand’s debut in the UK in 2016. The announcement was made by Dean Possenniskie, GM, EMEA, A+E Networks. Within the partnership with SKY, ad sales for Blaze will be managed by Sky Media. Blaze will broadcast factual entertainment content produced by A+E Networks, ranging from reality shows to docu-series: popular programs and series with amazing stories and spectacular images enhanced by the HD quality.
Blaze will focus on the everyday lives of people who are engaged in extraordinary situations, as well as center on tough lives and tough jobs, determined people living and working in hard conditions. Some titles include Ax Men, Power & Ice, Mountain Men, as well as competition series including, Alone. Blaze will be the home of the transactional genre in Italy, with shows like Barter Kings, Storage Wars, and Down East Dickering.
The new channel will be the house of motors. It will recount the adventures of American reckless off-road drivers and gifted mechanics with shows like Alaska Off Road Warriors and Leepu & Pitbull. Blaze will mean series of action, telling stories about policemen, firemen, nurses, and even bounty hunters across the USA, with shows like Nightwatch, Big Rig Bounty Hunters, and Parking Wars. Lastly, Blaze will provide a co-viewing experience with a wide range of lifestyle shows such as Fit to Fat to Fit and Flipping Vegas; as well as food series including The Wahlburgers, Epic Meal Empire.
Blaze will be the home of A+E Network’s pipeline of proven factual entertainment programs targeting an upscale, primarily male, Sky viewer with compelling content in high definition. Blaze explores the extraordinary, every day. It finds, elevates and celebrates real people and their stories – often big characters living remarkable lives on their terms.
Key programming strands include Tough Lives which features determined people living and working in harsh conditions and features series such as Ax Men, Power & Ice, Mountain Men as well as competition series like Alone.
