Munich – Red Arrow International’s global hit format “Married at First Sight” is set to premiere in France. The show will launch on M6 in France in November, produced by M6’s in-house production company Studio 89.The Married at First Sight format recently completed its fourth successful season on FYI and A&E in the US and has now been re-commissioned for a fifth season, to air in 2017.
Last month a second US spin-off show was also announced, with Married at First Sight: Second Chances commissioned by FYI for 2017, following the format’s first spin-off, Married at First Sight: The First Years.
In Married at First Sight, singles who have failed to find love put their hearts in the hands of a team of experts, who select their perfect partner. The couples then meet for the first time at the altar. After the wedding and honeymoon, the married couples move in together and start their new lives. From the first kiss to the first tears, cameras document every moment as experts analyse the relationships. Six weeks of marriage later, the couples have to make a decision: stay together or file for divorce.
Married at First Sight has become the world’s most watched relationship show and one of the most talked about and highest-rating formats of the decade. The format has been licensed to over 25 territories worldwide including the USA (A&E/FYI), the UK (Channel 4), Australia (Nine), Italy (Sky Uno), Denmark (DR1), Africa (Lifetime) and Germany (SAT.1). Married at First Sight is created by Snowman Production Denmark, a Red Arrow Entertainment Group company, for DR1.
