London – Independent distributor all3media International has secured a host of new sales Swan Films’ Love for Sale with Rupert Everett, as the two-part documentary, which sees the BAFTA nominated actor presenting a bold and highly personal take on “the world’s oldest profession,” picks up a prestigious Grierson Award.
Awarded “Documentary Presenter of the Year” for Rupert Everett at Grierson 2014, The British Documentary Awards, Love for Sale with Rupert Everett has been signed around the world, with sales to Italy’s CDI for Ceilo, Poland (TVN), Sweden (TV4), Australia (SBS) and Norway (SBS).
In the authored two-parter Rupert Everett offers an unusually truthful and honest insight into the business, and a funny and sometimes angry attack on the hypocrisy that surrounds the subject. Prostitutes are often seen as either immoral individuals or exploited victims, but Love for Sale with Rupert Everett gets behind the stereotypes and hears the unvarnished truth from both sex workers and their clients.
The documentary was produced by Swan Films for the UK’s Channel 4. This latest award marks the second Grierson in a row for the producer, who garnered the same award for All in the Best Possible Taste with Grayson Perry in 2013.
