Hong Kong – FOX International Channels (FIC) announced exclusively on July 25 from Comic Con International in San Diego, California The Walking Dead will return to audiences globally just 24 hours after its U.S. launch. The new season will premiere on October 13 in all of its 125+ markets, including Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, as part of FIC’s continued commitment to broadcast the series day-and-date internationally.

In Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, the hit series will now move to FOX, FIC’s flagship entertainment channel, after having been broadcast on FIC’s Hollywood movies channel FOX Movies Premium the past few seasons. This move is in line with the FOX channel’s global brand promise of being home to the best U.S. series and for top content being “First on FOX”.
As in previous seasons, the series’ fifth season of 16 episodes will air in two-parts with the first eight hours kicking off October 13 and returning February 2015 with the final eight episodes.
The zombie drama continues to break ratings records both in the U.S. on AMC and worldwide across FIC’s 200 entertainment channels in 125 countries. Internationally, Season 4 consistently ranked as the number one show on pay-tv, beating out all other competition in major markets and over-performing all prior season averages.
In Asia, the show’s season 4 premiere placed the FIC channel on which it was broadcast in a #1 position in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines and was the highest-rated western television series since 2005 in Taiwan.
