CBS Studios International and France’s M6 announced on June 10 an extension of their multi-year volume agreement to bring CBS’s hit network series to French audiences. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement continues the long-standing programming partnership between CBS Studios International and M6 that began in 2003 when M6 acquired the top-rated series NCIS. Other CBS series that have performed well for M6 are Hawaii Five-0, Elementary and NCIS: Los Angeles.
As part of the extension, M6 will also broadcast the second season of the international success Under the Dome and the new summer event series Extant, starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry, and will continue to have access to CBS’s future network programming.
“M6 is one of our signature programming partners, who has helped us build very successful brands, such as the NCIS franchise, in this key international market,” said Armando Nuñez, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Global Distribution Group. “We greatly value the M6 relationship and the mutual success we’ve enjoyed bringing these CBS shows to French audiences.”
“We have had a long relationship with CBS for more than 10 years, with strong successes on our channels,” said Nicolas de Tavernost, Chairman of the Executive Board of M6. “We are very happy to continue our partnership and feel confident that CBS will provide us with new hit series.”
