Australian movie and TV-show streaming company Quickflix announced on May 21 that its service has launched on the new Xbox One console.
Quickflix on Xbox One offers affordable subscription streaming of standard and high definition TV shows including HBO series; and blockbuster and family favourite movies, as well as premium latest release movies and current and recent drama TV drama series for a few dollars more, giving gaming and entertainment fans more ways to watch the content they love.
TV and movie streaming is growing rapidly amongst Australian consumers, with new state of the art entertainment devices like Xbox One offering even greater choice and instant access to the best in entertainment content. Quickflix’s streaming service has been growing at over 20 percent per quarter as new content and new devices are added to its network. Microsoft has seen a dramatic increase in fans engaging in video content reporting more than 70 percent of Xbox One owners using the platform to watch video content.
Stephen Langsford, Quickflix founder and CEO, said, “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Microsoft Australia enabling us to be the first Australian movie and TV streaming subscription service available on the new Xbox One console.
This launch is yet another step taken by Quickflix to offer Australians more ways to watch amazing entertainment presenting even more compelling alternatives to traditional television or pay-TV.”
Jeremy Hinton, Interactive Entertainment Business Lead for Microsoft Australia, said: “Over time, Xbox 360 evolved into a games and entertainment apps system — and we saw usage of Xbox jump significantly as people started to use the box for games, movies, TV shows, music, and more.”
“With Xbox One, we set out to create something entirely unique: a complete all-in-one system for the living room that not only has the best games, but the best online experiences, the best entertainment and TV experiences, together in one place, being built for the future. We are thrilled to have Quickflix as part of our great line up of local and international content available on Xbox One.”
