Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has signed a deal with ABC Commercial to bring The Flying Winemaker to their Central/South Asian Territory feed, Australia and New Zealand and Pacific Rim feed, and India Territory feed.
The lifestyle series follows Hong Kong-based master winemaker, Eddie McDougall, as he explores Asian food markets, restaurants and community meeting places to match wines with exotic dishes.
Charmaine Kwan, Vice President, Programming, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said: “We are always looking for fresh new talent and concepts for TLC in Asia-Pacific. This series fits the bill, bringing a brand new face to the channel, and a concept which marries food and wine, two topics much loved by our viewers.”
The Flying Winemaker is from WD Entertainment Group (The Stafford Brothers), and produced by Wes Dening, who said: “This deal with Discovery Channel Asia-Pacific expands WDE’s footprint across Asia as we continue to produce premium content with unique storytelling.”
