Mumbai – BBC Worldwide Productions in India is producing a brand new reality series for youth focussed Channel (v) entitled My Big Decision. The seven part series, hosted by Bollywood star Sandhya Mridul, will premiere on 14 January. The series follows young people as they go on journeys of self discovery, which will impact their lives in a very real way. The show is based on the theory that young people today are growing up faster than ever before and are making adult decisions more quickly than their parents would like. Myleeta Aga, General Manager and Creative Head, BBC Worldwide Productions India, commented: “It is our goal to present to Indian viewers the best of the international catalogue adapted to Indian tastes. My Big Decision is ahead of the curve, no holds barred, brutally frank, emotionally wrought. We believe this series will have viewers rooting for and identifying with the youngsters onscreen.” Prem Kamath, Executive VP and GM for Channel (v) says, “My Big Decision is an endeavour by Channel [v] to guide the youth today who have such larger than life decisions to make due to various influences. The show has been conceptualized on the premise that the youth is dabbling regularly with issues that nobody wishes to address.” BBC Worldwide Productions India licenses and produces all BBC Worldwide formats in India and works with local networks to develop home grown formats within the territory. The hugely successful India version of Dancing with the Stars (Jhalak Dikhla Ja) was recently named Best General Entertainment programme at the Asia Television Awards.
