FOX International Channels (FIC) has launched FOX Movies Premium Play, Asia’s first online pay-TV streaming platform. The new service is being launched in conjunction with FOX Movies Premium, a new multi-genre flagship channel that debuts in January 2012. FOX Movies Premium Play is available only to FOX Movies Premium subscribers and will enable them to watch their favourite content on a wide variety of devices—first on PCs, then on tablets and smartphones and eventually all broadband connected devices. Zubin Gandevia, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, FOX International Channels, said of the launch, “It will break the chains that used to tie us to our living room televisions and take content wherever people want to watch it.” FIC, which recently launched the same online player in Latin America with great success, said the service will feature a wide variety of content, including blockbuster movies, big-budget series and major live events.
