Hong Kong – Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has acquired new dramas, HawthoRNe and Drop Dead Diva. HawthoRNe marks Jada Pinkett Smith’s (wife of Will Smith) foray into TV after about 17 years of acting in feature films. As an executive producer on the show, Smith also plays the lead, compassionate head nurse Hawthorne, who goes out of her way to cut hospital red tape for patients. Drop Dead Diva sees a dead beautiful model coming back to life in the body of a plus-size lawyer, resulting in the showdown between beauty and brains.
