Sony Pictures Television secures new formats
London – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is expanding its non-scripted offering with acquisitions, commissions and a talent tie-in ahead of MIPCOM. Breakaway, one of SPT’s newest gameshows, has been picked up by Egypt’s Al Hayat, with SPT Arabia commissioned to produce a local version to be stripped through weekdays. Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? (Kaun Banega Crorepati) made its return to Sony Entertainment Television in India on September 7 to record ratings. According to TAM data (HSM, CS + 4), the premiere episode registered 6.1 TVR, garnering 29.8 million viewers (19% reach).
