Since its launch in 1997, SASUKE has grown into a massively popular sports entertainment programme and a gem in the crown of the TBS lineup.
TBS contributes characters from Beyond the Boundary anime to mega-popular Chinese smartphone app WeChat.
The series – launching in January 2015 – is a co-production between Tokyo Broadcasting Systems with Malaysia’s Primeworks Studios and partner producers with Singapore’s MediaCorp and Thailand’s GMM Channel.
The four-way co-production is viewed as a pioneering move in the entertainment/game genre, as international co-productions generally tend to take place between two parties in documentary and drama.
The collaboration between Primeworks Studios and ntv7 Malaysia with Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) and is slated to begin shooting later this year in November.
The new series is scheduled to broadcast to Vietnamese viewers by early 2015.
