Seoul - The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has announced a plan to provide additional public services through IPTV this year. The KCC said that they have created consortiums for KT, LG Dacom and SK Broadband - Korea's three IPTV operators - to carry out the services. AsiaSat selects Space Systems/Loral for AsiaSat 5C
Palo Alto, Calif./Hong Kong - Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications and the leading provider of commercial satellites, announced that it has been selected to provide a new communications satellite, named AsiaSat 5C, to Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat). StarHub profit up 3 percent, pay-TV subs up 4 percent in first quarter
Singapore - In the quarter, net profit after tax increased 3 percent to S$82 million on the back of S$531 million revenue. Profit before taxation was 1 percent higher at S$101 million year-on-year (YoY). Free cash flow at S$115 million was 277 percent higher compared to last year's S$31 million. BBS wins at Bhutan’s annual media awards
Bhutan - Bhutan held its first annual media awards in the capital, Thimpu, last week with the national broadcaster BBS picking up three awards.
