Henderson’s Peter Lee eyes TVB stake
Hong Kong - Television Broadcasts Ltd (TVB) may soon have a new owner as Henderson Land Development chairman Lee Shau-kee's son Peter Lee Ka-kit is in talks about buying stakes in the station. A spokeswoman for Henderson Land confirmed last week that the younger Lee, who is vice chairman of the developer, is working on the deal with representatives of Shaw Brothers. TVB senior management involved in corruption investigation
Hong Kong - Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) confirmed last week that three of their senior management staff are involved in a corruption investigation. It is widely believed that one of the management staff involved in the investigation is Stephen Chan, general manager of TVB. Run Run Shaw to give up executive duties at TVB
Hong Kong - Media mogul Sir Run Run Shaw, chairman of TVB and executive chairman since 1980, will relinquish his executive duties and move into a non-executive role from January. It is not yet known who will handle Shaw's duties. Shaw's wife Mona Fong is deputy chairperson and managing director of the company, and according to local media reports, Fong is already at the heart of TVB's business. Hong Kong - Terrestrial broadcaster TVB will acquire 31 percent of pay-TV platform TVB Pay Vision, paying See Corp. HK$213 million (US$27 million) for the stake.
