Doordarshan to increase satellite transmission
Prasar Bharati's terrestrial channel Doordarshan will be enhancing its satellite reach in North East India, according to The Economic Times. The report added that the network's terrestrial transmitters were being replaced by satellites and that the necessary infrastructure for the switch will have to be set up in the region. China to restrict satellite TV stations to one foreign programme per year
The report, from Reuters, adds that the official Shanghai Securities Journal, citing an order by the General Administration for Press and Publication to domestic television stations, said foreign programmes could not be broadcast in prime-time viewing hours during the year in which the broadcasting rights were purchased.This announcement follows the policy initiated in February 2013, which restricts the broadcast of foreign shows to 50 episodes.
