UTV in three-pronged approach to distribute World Cinema films

Mumbai - UTV will invest Rs. 70 crores (US$16.2 million) to launch its UTV Palador initiative consisting of a World Cinema movie channel, a DVD label and World Cinema theatres in India, including special film clubs and corporate screenings.Offered across the different platforms is the Olive Collection, an archive of over 1000 films from 20 countries that have won more than 3,000 awards from the likes of BAFTA, Cannes, Pusan, Berlin, Venice and Toronto. Laureen Ong succeeds Steve Askew as STAR’s Chief Operating Officer

Hong Kong– Laureen Ong will join STAR as Chief Operating Officer in June 2007 to replace Steve Askew, who resigned for personal reasons.
