Seoul, South Korea – The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has licenced the broadcast rights for the Olympic Games to KRT, the national broadcaster of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has been inducted by the ITU-T as a sector member. ITU-T is one of the three sectors of the International Telecommunication Union and focuses on development of telecommunication standards (telephony, mobile, IPTV, etc). ABU signs new Olympics deal; plans extensive games coverage
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has signed an agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for broadcast rights to the next Winter and Summer Olympic Games. The ABU will represent 22 countries for Vancouver 2010 (Winter) and London 2012 (Summer). The ABU successfully bid for exclusive free to air rights.
