BBC Worldwide has published its Annual Review for 2011/12 showing an eight percent rise in headline profit to £155m (2010/11: £144m). Profit before tax of £104m (2010/11: £92m excluding gains on disposals) is up 13% on a like for like basis. (Pictured: Agony Uncles) ABC Commercial secured more than 200 hours of sales to international and domestic in-flight entertainment services in the FY 2011 – 2012. These deals were secured as a result of a number of output deals and orders from new partners, from Asia through to the US. George Entwistle named next Director-General of BBC
George Entwistle will succeed Mark Thompson as the Director-General of the BBC, the BBC has announced. The BBC Trust has stated that the next head of the BBC will have to settle for a smaller salary than the £671,000 earned by Thompson, who is expected to stand down from his post after the Paralympics, after eight years in the role, the BBC reported. Sydney - Consolidated Media Holdings Limited (CMH) has announced that it has received a conditional and nonâ€binding proposal from News Limited (News) to acquire CMH at a price of US $3.50 cash per share by way of a scheme of arrangement on a CMH board – recommended basis (the Proposal).
