Singapore – The finalists for this year’s Asian Television Awards 2012 (ATA) have been announced by organising publication Television Asia Plus. A total of 248 entries spanning 13 countries have been short-listed for the 17th annual presentation of one of the region’s most prestigious industry honours. Novovision moves into cartoon genre with Pop Toon
Paris – Novovision has entered the world of animation with its brand new show, Pop Toon, aimed at those aged 6-13. It will present the series at next month’s Asia Television Forum (ATF) in Singapore. The series will comprise 300 shows, of which 25 half-hour shows are ready for delivery. A+E Networks licenses American Pickers format
New York/Sydney – A+E Networks has licensed Australian format rights for the hit series American Pickers to Foxtel. To be produced by Shine Australia, the 10-episode Aussie Pickers will air in Australia on A&E, which is managed locally by Foxtel, in 2013. BSkyB wins trademark battle against PCCW for “NOW TV” brand
UK’s BSkyB (Sky) has won a high court case against Hong Kong’s PCCW regarding its use of the name NOW TV for its new OTT service.
