The organizers of Sunny Side of the Doc, held annually in La Rochelle, have announced that the first Asian Side of the Doc (ASD) will be held 22-25 March 2010 in Hong Kong. With the support from the European Commission’s Media International, the major international documentary market is looking to bring together 150 professionals, 50 European decision makers / producers and 100 Asian TV executives / producers. ASD is aimed to develop co-productions between Asia Pacific and Europe in the field of Documentary, Factual programming and Cross-Media platforms. Over the next 3 years ASD is going to take place in different major Asian cities: After Hong Kong, ASD will move to Seoul in 2011 and to Singapore in 2012. ASD will be regular Meeting Event for European and Asian Pacific commissioning editors and producers to share their experiences, understand their mutual needs and built up a strong network. Event is based on the Sunny Side Co-production Rendez-Vous, organized for the past 6 years in the USA/New York, Washington Canada/Toronto, Montreal, United Kingdom/London, Eastern Europe/Sofia & South America/Buenos Aires.
