Televisieprijzen uitgereikt op Gouden Televizier Ring Gala
Talpa Studios’ hit reality format The Alliance has won the Gouden Televizier-Ring, the Netherlands’ best-known and most prestigious audience-voted television award. The win marks another major milestone for John de Mol’s Talpa Studios, as the format continues to build international momentum following its success in the Netherlands and India. The award was presented during the annual Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala in Amsterdam on October 8.
John de Mol, owner and founder of Talpa Studios said, “There is no greater recognition than an award decided by the audience, so winning the country’s biggest television prize makes us incredibly proud. What makes The Alliance so strong is that it does things differently. Competition, strategy and human relationships are all connected, while new players continuously bring new dynamics and shift the balance of power. Seeing audiences embrace the format in both the Netherlands and India proves the strength of the formula in two very different markets. It is a format made to connect with audiences across every platform.”
The win comes at a time of growing international momentum for The Alliance. Earlier this year, the format made its international debut in India, where a Hindi-language celebrity version produced by Banijay Asia launched on Prime Video India. Within two weeks of its premiere, The Alliance climbed to #1 in Prime Video India’s trending rankings and remained in the platform’s Top 10 for six weeks. A second season has been commissioned.
Since its launch in the Netherlands in October 2023, The Alliance has proven itself as a highly addictive reality format, driven by strategy, trust and constantly changing dynamics. The show has become SBS6’s most-watched early-evening program in 25 years. It is also the number one title on the streaming platform KIJK. Across social media, The Alliance generates more than 60 million views per month.
