The first international adaptation of Alliance, the hit reality format from John de Mol’s Talpa Studios, premiered on 26 June and has quickly climbed to the top of Prime Video India’s trending rankings, marking a milestone for the service’s first foray into daily unscripted entertainment. This milestone builds on the momentum of the original Dutch format, which has become one of the country’s fastest-growing daily reality shows.
Produced by Banijay Asia, the Hindi-language series brings together 16 celebrity Allies in a high-stakes game of strategy, trust, and betrayal, streaming daily at noon across India and in more than 240 countries worldwide, underscoring the format’s strong audience appeal in one of the world’s largest streaming markets.
Deepak Dhar, Founder & Group CEO at Banijay Asia: “At Banijay Asia, we’ve never believed innovation comes from making something louder. It comes from doing something different. Alliance challenged a lot of conventions around unscripted entertainment by combining strategy, scale and unpredictability in a fresh way. The real strength of Alliance lies in its exceptionally layered format design. Its structure, where challenges, strategy, relationships and difficult decisions continuously influence one another, creates a constantly evolving game that keeps both players and viewers engaged over the long run. We had great confidence in the format, and having a collaborative and forward-thinking partner in Talpa was instrumental in bringing that vision to life. Seeing audiences make it the #1 title in India on Prime Video is incredibly rewarding.”
The achievement in India follows the continued success of the original Dutch version, De Bondgenoten, now in its third year and the best-performing long-running reality series on SBS6, consistently delivering strong ratings and engagement. Alliance‘s rapid rise on Prime Video India signals that the format’s appeal translates powerfully across markets.
