Talpa Studios, the global production company founded by John de Mol, has secured a new commission for the high stakes reality chase Most Wanted, with leading French broadcaster M6 ordering a local adaptation for its channel and streaming platform M6+. The commission marks the format’s launch in France, following successful adaptations in the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary. Co-created by Talpa Studios and Signal.Stream, the format will air in France under the title Wanted: Catch Me If You Can. Produced by Studio 89, the in house production arm of M6 Group, the French adaptation brings the format’s signature blend of real time storytelling, audience participation and high stakes pursuit to one of Europe’s largest television audiences.
Most Wanted sees a group of celebrities escape from a high-security prison before embarking on a five-day run across the country. Stripped of phones, money and modern conveniences, they must evade capture while a team of professional hunters uses advanced technology, intelligence gathering and public information to track them down. The result is an immersive event format that unfolds almost in real time, creating continuous audience engagement across both broadcast and digital platforms.
Florence Duhayot, Managing Director of Programming at M6, said, “Most Wanted perfectly embodies M6’s DNA: to innovate, surprise, and bring people together. We are convinced that this format has all the qualities needed to establish itself as a must-watch event.”
Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, “Most Wanted is an unique event format that excels at converting real-time audience interest into viewership. By airing shortly after production, it creates a powerful content discovery engine that drives audiences from social conversation to the broadcaster’s platform. Following its success in the Netherlands, Hungary and Germany, we could not imagine a better partner than M6 to bring the format to France.”
