German broadcaster ProSieben has commissioned a local version of the reality chase format Catch Us, making Germany the third market for the show following the Netherlands and Hungary. Co-developed by Signal.Stream and RTL Creative Unit in collaboration with John de Mol’s Talpa Studios, the format will launch locally as Catch Us – Die Jagd Durch Europa. The three-night prime-time event will air on November 10, 11 and 12 on ProSieben and streaming platform Joyn, with Redseven Entertainment producing the German version.
Filming kicks off on October 17 in Cologne, where three celebrities make their escape from the studio before embarking on a five-day chase through three major European cities. Hot on their heels are six teams of hunters who, supported by their online communities, will do everything they can to track them down and catch them. The celebrities, dressed in red-and-white striped T-shirts, must complete challenges that force them out of hiding and into the public eye. Steven Gätjen takes on the role of game master, overseeing the chase as it unfolds across Europe.
The format, which launched in the Netherlands as Catch Us If You Can last October, made a strong cross-platform debut across RTL 4, Videoland and YouTube. Catch Us achieved a 31.1% market share on RTL 4 among viewers aged 25–54, climbed to #2 in Videoland’s Top 10 and attracted more than 420,000 viewers on YouTube, underscoring its ability to connect audiences across linear, streaming and social platforms.
Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, “We’re excited to see Catch Us build international momentum, and ProSieben’s three-night primetime event is a perfect fit for the format. Catch Us was built around fast, social-driven discovery, with a chase that unfolds across cities, platforms and communities. It gives audiences a role in the action and creates a sense of immediacy that goes far beyond the broadcast itself.”
