Shotoku Broadcast Systems, international manufacturer of high-quality, easy-to-use, robust and reliable camera support systems, has announced plans to exhibit both robotic and manual solutions at BroadcastAsia 2024. On the robotics side, the company will be showing a glimpse into the future of studio robotics control with its reliable and resilient TR-XT control system that incorporates the Company’s AutoFrame face tracking technology to address the pain points of high-pressure 24/7 live studio production. TR-XT will be driving the Company’s TI-11X elevator pedestal, T1-12 height drive and the versatile TI-18i pan/tilt head at the show in Booth 6E1-1 (Magna).
On the manual side, Shotoku representatives will be available in Booth 6E1-9 to discuss the features that distinguish the company’s wide range of pedestals, tripods and pan & tilt heads as best-of-breed products for studio, OB, and ENG use.
TR-XT – Powerful, fully featured, a breeze to operate
Shotoku will be showing its TR-XT studio robotics control system which has been upgraded with significant new functionality. The new version has moved to a Windows 11 operating system and implements even more of the distributed front-end / back-end architecture and fully supported virtualized remote database support. The TR-XT incorporates a considerably enhanced feature set that provides operators with more options and the ability to perform more efficiently, unencumbered by unnecessary obstacles. The TR-XT has a fresh easier-on-the-eye style of command buttons and color scheme that makes navigating the system easier than ever.
AutoFrame Face Tracking – Best of both worlds
The TR-XT will be demonstrated with AutoFrame, a separate technology integrated for seamless real-time face tracking and shot recall. AutoFrame allows any Shotoku robotic camera to be controlled smoothly and intelligently through automatic face tracking algorithms, developed specifically for the application, with subtle, appropriate adjustments for response delays, accelerations, and decelerations in motion. AutoFrame operates as autonomously as possible, while ensuring human intervention can be instantaneous and seamless – guaranteeing operators have the best of all worlds.
TI-11X Elevator Pedestal
The TR-XT will be controlling Shotoku’sTI-11X elevator pedestal perfectly paired with the TG-18i pan/tilt head for a highly capable robotic camera channel that includes elevation. The TI-11X is based on Shotoku’s X-Height elevator column and offers a longer range of travel and increased speed over the TI-11 i-height pedestal. Like the TI-11 the TI-11X is aimed at studios where full manual override is not a priority.
TI-12 Elevator Unit
Shotoku’s TI-12 elevator unit, also at show, is the excellent choice for studios where height control is required and manual operation is essential. The TI-12 Height Drive is the world’s only truly adaptable height drive able to attach to and elevate columns any studio pedestal virtually, including other manufacturers, of any age or design. Adding height control to a new or existing pedestal brings added value to customers who demand not only super-smooth robotic operation but need to maintain manual pedestal operation at the touch of a button.
