FOR-A, a cutting-edge video broadcast technology company backed by more than 50 years’ experience, will excite visitors to Broadcast Asia 2024 with its unrivalled leadership in Ultra HD over 12G-HDI. Demonstrations and presentations will focus on live production and will also show the way for seamless transitions to IP connectivity for media.
Taking centre stage is the very capable and operator-friendly HVS-6000 production switcher. The unit provides 12G-SDI capability on all inputs and outputs (80 inputs/32 outputs or 64 inputs/48 outputs), with an optional board-mounting connector allowing IP interfaces to be mounted on all I/O slots. The result is a production switcher with three M/Es and four keyers per M/E, providing all the flexibility and creative power for the largest television shows. For studios that are in the transition phase, the switcher allows up-conversion from HD to 4K on all inputs, with down-conversion on all aux outputs.
Showing how well FOR-A technology takes its place in a best-of-breed installation, the company is collaborating with vendors on neighbouring stands. A dedicated area on the adjacent Canon booth (6E3-1) will show a Canon lens on an Ikegami (6D4-1) camera feeding a FOR-A HVS-1200 switcher. The HVS-1200 compact switcher, ready for 4K 12G-SDI, Exclusive MELite™ technology extends the switcher’s 1 M/Es to offer 2M/E performance.
Also showcased on the booth will be other examples of the way that FOR-A technology can deliver the complete infrastructure for HD and 4K; SDI and IP. The FA-1616 software-defined signal processing platform seamlessly bridges the gap between SDI and IP workflows, provides frame synchronisation for up to 32 channels, plus colour correction and audio remapping. The FA-9600 multi-purpose signal processor offers 4 synchronization modes, flexible timecode management, high-quality conversion, versatile video and audio I/O, and conversion between standard colour space and HDR and wide colour gamut. The compact 1RU FA-1616 and FA-9600 are ideal standalone solutions for master control, outside broadcasts and many other applications.
Also taking up just 1RU in a rack, the MV-3240 multi-viewer allows you to create multiple monitoring layouts from 32 inputs and five outputs. Units can be cascaded for even more display layouts.
“Broadcast Asia is a very popular show, where all the production, broadcast and media people come together,” said Robert Shen, Sales Manager of FOR-A in Singapore. “We know that our customers are facing real challenges in handling more signals, creating more content and delivering more formats, all while quality standards are being pushed up and technology is moving fast from legacy broadcast hardware to software-defined tools and IP connectivity.
“At FOR-A we have the answers in our proven, highly reliable products, that are designed for flexibility and scalability, allowing our users to move forward at their own pace,” Shen continued. “Through our demonstrations at Broadcast Asia, and through our partnerships with other highly regarded vendors in the industry, we will show how visitors can address the real issues facing them today, reliably and cost-effectively.”
